The Search and Rescue Robot Challenge and Conference is a chance to bring students from around the world together to compete in creating an autonomous robot to help first responders (Fire, Emergency, Police) find survivors of disasters natural or otherwise. Our belief is it will be this generation of students who will take artificial intelligence and robotics into the world of emergency services. Finding new ways to help first responders react more quickly to disasters. To in a sense create the robotic search and rescue dog who will bravely travel with and support our human heroes.
The main objective for this competition is to create an autonomous robot to move quickly through a simulated disaster site and find the victim. The “arena” will be built to the specifications laid out in the rules. Each year the challenge will change as new variations on the rescue site are used. Always read the latest definition of the rescue challenge first before beginning to design your solution.
The Rule Book-This rule book has been put together to give competitors the best information available about the competition. Do not pay attention to what others may tell you about the competition. This is the rule book and guide for the competition. Changes to the competition rule book may occur. Any changes by the challenge committee will be posted here on this site first before accepted in to action. Always check this site and particularly this section to keep up to date on the latest competition rules.
